Role overview.
We are seeking a Fire Alarm Domain Expert to provide technical leadership and industry expertise for our fire alarm-related products and initiatives. This role will work closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure our platform aligns with real-world fire alarm design, code compliance, and industry workflows.
The ideal candidate has significant experience in fire alarm system design, engineering, commissioning, inspection, or code compliance and is excited about helping bring modern technology solutions to the fire protection industry.
Key responsibilities.
- Provide subject matter expertise on fire alarm systems, design practices, and compliance requirements.
- Advise engineering and product teams on fire alarm workflows and customer needs.
- Review and validate platform features for technical accuracy.
- Assist in developing AI-powered tools related to fire alarm system design and documentation.
- Help define product requirements and feature priorities.
- Support testing and validation of software outputs.
- Participate in customer discussions, demonstrations, and technical consultations.
- Assist with educational materials, documentation, and knowledge resources.
- Analyze industry trends and recommend new product opportunities.
- Serve as an internal resource for fire alarm-related technical questions.
Areas of expertise.
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following:
- Fire alarm system design.
- NFPA 72 compliance.
- System layout and device placement.
- Voice evacuation systems.
- Inspection, testing, and maintenance procedures.
- Plan review and permitting processes.
- Code consulting and compliance review.
- Integration with sprinkler, suppression, and life safety systems.
Required qualifications.
- 5+ years of experience in the fire alarm industry.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and related fire protection codes.
- Experience designing, reviewing, inspecting, or commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of life safety systems and code compliance.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications.
- NICET certification.
- Fire Protection Engineering background.
- Experience with major fire alarm manufacturers and platforms.
- Experience with system integration and life safety coordination.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or related design tools.
- Interest in AI, automation, and software products.
- Experience supporting large commercial, healthcare, industrial, or educational facilities.
